Eligibility Criteria
- ✓Must have a FootyWhale account.
- ✓Must explicitly enter the competition before it ends — automatic entry is not granted.
- ✓Must cast at least 10 votes during the competition period to qualify.
- ✓Only votes cast during the active competition period count — no retroactive credit for previous votes.
- ✓Winner determined by highest P&L (profit and loss) from simulated £1 unit stakes at fair-value odds.
- ✓Top 3 finishers will be displayed on the public Hall of Fame.
Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
FootyWhale competitions are open to all registered users aged 18 and over. One entry per person per competition. Multiple accounts per individual are prohibited and may result in disqualification. FootyWhale reserves the right to verify eligibility before awarding any prize.
2. Competition Period
Each competition runs from the start date to the end date as displayed on the /competition page. Votes cast outside this period do not count toward the competition. All times are shown in your local timezone.
3. How Winners Are Determined
Winners are ranked by P&L (profit and loss) calculated from simulated £1 unit stakes at fair-value odds. Fair-value odds are derived by removing the bookmaker margin from published odds — this means the same odds used to assess crowd accuracy. A minimum vote threshold must be met during the competition period to qualify for ranking. In the event of a tie, the participant with more qualifying votes ranks higher.
4. Prizes
The prize is as advertised on the competition page at the time of entry. FootyWhale reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. No cash alternative will be offered unless the prize is already cash. Prizes are non-transferable.
5. Prize Fulfilment
Winners will be contacted via their registered email address within 7 days of competition close. The prize will be delivered within 30 days of the winner confirming their details. Winners must respond to the notification within 14 days or the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible participant.
6. Hall of Fame Consent
By entering the competition, you consent to your display name, profile avatar, and competition statistics (P&L, total votes, ranking) being displayed on the public Hall of Fame if you finish in the top 3. This information will remain on the Hall of Fame permanently as part of the competition record.
7. No Purchase Necessary
FootyWhale is a free platform. No real money is wagered at any point. All P&L figures are simulated for competition ranking purposes only and do not represent actual financial gains or losses. FootyWhale does not facilitate real-money betting.
8. Liability
FootyWhale is not responsible for technical issues, incorrect odds data from third-party providers, service interruptions, or any other circumstances outside our reasonable control that may affect competition outcomes. Decisions by FootyWhale on all competition matters are final and binding.
9. Changes to These Terms
FootyWhale reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised version date. Continued participation in competitions after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
